Bird Cookie Treats

Bird Cookie Treats, I Found this file a while back but I can not find the real sender to thank them for a great little animal gift tutorial. Now would be  good time to make this easy little treat for the little birds who are looking for food on these cold winter days.

You will need:

4 cups bird seed
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons of corn syrup
mix flour, water, and syrup together in a measuring cup.
Then added that to the bowl of bird seed.
Stir well coating all of the bird seed.
1. Press bird seed mixture into the heart shape or what ever U have on hand. But make sure you place on a wax paper. And spray the cutter with Pam (again use what you have) Press spoonfuls of the mixture into the heart shape with the back of the spoon. Place a straw in where ever you want a hole to hang from. Then lift up and off the cookie cutter carefully. Spraying the cookie cutter with cooking spray makes it slide right off.
To dry them, place the bird cookies in the oven on the lowest setting(170 degrees) for an hour. Flipping them over about half way through, or let them air dry.
Many thanks for to the person(s) who wrote this up.

Check this easy to make Bling Barrette from P.S. I made this..

If we’ve got one tip to offer up for your Fall accessory collection…make sure it ROCKS. Chanel had an all-out crystal ball with its Fall 2012 collection, as Karl Lagerfeld decked heels, cuffs, hems and even eyebrows with brilliant moonstones & rocky gems.  Fuse abstract amethyst, moody-hued quartz and shimmering fluorite to create a bold yet (literally) precious D.I.Y. hair accessory for a look that packs the power of Kryptonite both day and night.

To create:  Cut a rectangular piece of leather (or leather-like) fabric to the approximate size of your barrette. Glue the backside of the fabric piece to your barrette with extra-strength glue - we used E6000. To avoid excess glue and drips, use a craft stick. Finish by embellishing with an array of quartz and crystals. Let dry completely, then style for an instant eye-catcher.

Craft Fairs are fun

So I completed my second craft fair and I worked it alone! Woo I was so worried that I could not handle it but I did well. The hardest part of doing a craft fair by yourself is that you have to find the correct location and then carry everything and un-pack and at the end of the event pack it all up again, ekkk. The last part was a pain for me. Going back and forth to the car is not fun but woke me up so I was wide awake and ready for the crowds. Hahaha well that did not happen often enough, but I’m not really complaining. It was all in all a nice educational adventure that I will not forget. Once again I was blessed with meeting good working neighbors. It makes the day go by so much faster when you meeting some very nice people two of whom where once upon a time Northerners from Illinois my old home town. My good neighbors were Juju Beads, Tupperware and Thirty-One Bags. Was invited to 2 more events, one is right around the corner which I turned down right off the bat, and the other will be in March, so I have time to get new inventory and get ready for it.    I also did a bit of holiday shopping for the grandkids, but now I am so tired and want to rest.

Jackie Peña- this is how sad it has become around here. They may even have a memorial service for him .. ..(teehehe) (sorry, I had to laugh).
The good news is, is that they are going to make another one and they say he is going to be bigger and better. #onlyinTexas

TEXTURE PASTE/MEDIUM RECIPE

Reading Pinterest today I caught up with this cool recipe (not for food this time) and wanted to post it.

Thank you ladies this is a great save on $$ and gives me more time doing arts and crafts instead of shopping.

Mind you all credits going to  gabriellepollacco.blogspot.co.uk pinned by Donna Smith for pinning onto pinterest, check them both out they do great work.

HOME MADE TEXTURE PASTE/MEDIUM!!
It's a really easy recipe, quick to make and super inexpensive!  …this stuff worked ok

               TEXTURE PASTE/MEDIUM RECIPE
1/2 cup Baking Soda
2 Tablespoons white school glue
1-2 Tablespoons White Acrylic Paint
(water may be necessary)

Instructions:  An air tight container and baking soda. Then add the glue, acrylic paint & mix,
just till it gets smooth. Add drops of water to get it to the consistency you want or need. The mixture keeps well in the air tight containers. …Some recipes used talcum powder instead of the baking soda for a slightly smoother texture.

Try it out and let me know how it goes for you, also post and show me your designs, here or on Pinterest.

Look what I found!

Craft yourself calm.

Could glitter and scissors really be the cure for stress? You bet! Research has shown that hobbies like crafting can reduce stress and boost your immune system. Experts say that 30 minutes a day spent working on an active hobby can greatly impact your mood and well-being. So find some time, grad your glitter, and discover the creative way to destress.
Wooo Rock On.
I wish I could craft all the time.

Let me know what you all think about crafting.

We are happy for Rain

We Are happy for the rain that has come down to us but we had to pay a price for it. The small storm that came thru the other night wasssaid to be just heavey straight winds. Well those so called straight winds hit our whole neighboor and left us in the dark till 3:00 Am. WE had it easy it only tore off a few shinggles and blew our fence down. Where my poor next door neighbor had a tree crash into his front room window, whoopss there goes her new curtains! Then the other neighbor across from us had the tree break and fall onto the rear of the truck. All over the whole neighborhood you can see into everyones yard, almost everyone had there fenches hit and tossed to the ground. But like I said before we had it easy and no one was hurt, so we give Thanks to God for all the rain. Hope you all are ok, let me know if you where hit by any of the storms.

Spring celebrates her 15 anos

look how happy Spring is
Well this weekend has almost ended, and I have no regrets. I went to mass I met with friends I ate and danced and now I am sitting resting my tired and old legs. Wow I did not even dance that much but I feel like I did a whole body workout. Thats part of old age and the other part of not doing exercise. So I thought that maybe during the week I should put some heels on and dance dance and dance while I clean up the house, haha. Just a thought hahaha! Well I went to our friends Maria and Spring 15 anos Celebration.

Before the dancing takes place a mass is given and that in itself is a celebration. It was the very first time I have attended mass St. Thomas and I don't think it will be the last time. This Church while its a bit small its cute and very friendly Neighborly type Catholic church right off of Azel Ave in Ft Worth.

Everyone was so excited and everyone looked so beautiful at the 15 anos celebration. I met up with some old time friends and made a new friends. Everyone at St Thomas Church helped Maria and Spring out in some form or fashion and made it a wonderful event. One which I am sure Spring will never forget, but she is a smart and gifted caring young lady who deserves good things.

I think everyone who pitched in did a great job to get this young little lady her dream birthday celebration.

Spring after mass

If you helped in any way and or if you have more photos that you want  to share, send them to me and I'm post them.

Well that was what I did let me how your weekend has been or what you did or plan on doing.

Now I have to go and think what I am making for my Christmas cards. I am finding a winter theme hard to come by when its over 90 degree outside.

Photo: Bringing back the "old" Justin Fun Days.....

Before all that took place I was out and about with the kids in Justin Texas! At the Justin fun days Staring good food by LaRosita. Where they had live music and events all day long. I especially loved that they had the Mutton Bustin and I tried to convince Lina to try it. Well I think she might have given it a try but her mom Meli said no way! Lina did not have the right gear for it, plus it was getting up to 95 or 96 degrees, to hot for us. Haha the truth is it looks like a lot of fun until the fall!
